Tyler was born and raised in Thunder Bay, and is a band member of Eabametoong First Nation. He has worked with Roots to Harvest in many different capacities, with his last role supporting the local Poverty Reduction Partnership Project with Nishnawbe Aski Nation.

As Project Support, Tyler directly supported communities through networking, planning, and the purchasing of items related to the community determination of food.

As Project Support, Tyler supported the overall implementation of the project, with the majority of his time spent working with communities assisting in the facilitation of their food sovereignty activities.
